Food Shed Co-op and Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen Cook Up a Collaboration

Woodstock, IL, October 16, 2023 — General Manager, Peter Waldmann, is excited to announce that the Food Shed Co-op is collaborating with Duke’s Alehouse and Kitchen on a food consulting and limited branding basis. “As part of our collaboration, we will develop nearly 100 unique recipes created by Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen for the Food Shed Co-op.” The goal of this alliance is to source 100% local ingredients while tapping into Duke’s expertise and food artistry to produce distinctive menu items for the co-op’s Grab-and-Go, Heat and Serve, Soup Bar, Hot Foods, and Juice Bar selections.

Food Shed Co-op is committed to offering great tasting, healthy, affordable, ready-to-eat, prepared food options for their customers. These signature selections will be labeled under the “Locally Sourced Duke's Line.”

“We want to prove that great-tasting local foods are affordable and convenient!” declares Waldmann.

This partnership is true to the Food Shed Co-op's core values of offering local and healthy food options by promoting and fostering better food choices while strengthening the local economy.

Food Shed Co-op would like community members to join them in welcoming Zak Dolezal, a long-time Food Shed Co-op supporter and Owner and President of Duke's Ale House and Kitchen, to the Food Shed Co-op team!

Food Shed Co-op is a community-owned and controlled grocery store that will soon be open to the public. They will prioritize local suppliers whenever possible. It will be a place for community members to gather, shop and nourish their families. The co-op is committed to offer shoppers access to affordable quality foods and teach people about the foods they eat. The store will have a full breadth of departments with Produce being their signature category. Their mission is to offer the largest selection of quality, sustainable, local and organic produce available in the marketplace. When open, the store will be 9,000 square feet and offer approximately 5,000 different items.

Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen’s Crystal Lake location creates gourmet comfort foods and artisan sandwiches utilizing sustainable ingredients from local farmers and producers. They believe it is their responsibility to be transparent with where the food they serve comes from. Food should not only be responsibly sourced, but should also be healthy for our community, the environment, and your health.
