Compassionate Senior Support in McHenry County
Since 1998, the Senior Care Volunteer Network (SCVN) has been the premier provider of free senior services and volunteer assistance for independent seniors aged 60 and over residing in McHenry County, Illinois.
Our mission is to connect dedicated volunteers with elderly residents to help them maintain independence, dignity, and a high quality of life in their own homes.
Key Senior Support Services (No Cost):
- Senior Transportation: Free rides for elderly to medical appointments (doctors, specialists, therapy).
- Friendly Visits/Respite: Companionship and social interaction to combat senior isolation.
- Minor Home Repairs: Assistance with light home maintenance and safety modifications.
- Seasonal Chores: Yard work and exterior help for homebound seniors.
Community Medical Equipment Lending Closet:
SCVN also operates a vital medical equipment lending closet open to anyone in the community, regardless of age. All items are available at no cost to remove financial barriers.
Available Durable Medical Equipment Includes:
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers (Rolling Walkers, Standard Walkers)
- Canes (Standard Canes, Quad Canes)
- Shower Chairs and Shower Benches
- Knee Walkers
